Privacy

The short version: this site runs no analytics, loads nothing from any third party, sets no tracking cookie, and profiles nobody. It stores an email address if you ask to be notified, and a message if you write to us. Nothing else.

Who is responsible

For anything about your data, write to contact@jug.ba.

The one cookie

One cookie, ft. It holds a signed timestamp showing that a form submission came from a real page view, which is how the forms resist bots without a CAPTCHA. It identifies nobody, expires after 4 hours, and is accepted only once.

If you join the waitlist

We store your email address, the time you submitted it, and whether you ticked the contribute box. That is the whole record.

It is used to send you one email when JUG.ba launches. If you ticked the contribute box, we will also write to you once before the first meetup, about speaking, hosting or organizing. There is no newsletter and no other mailing. We rely on your consent, given when you submit the form, and the list is deleted once the launch email has gone out, and in any case by 31 December 2027. You can withdraw at any time by writing to contact@jug.ba, at no cost to you.

If you use the contact form

We store the name, email address and message you send, and use them only to reply. We rely on your consent, given when you submit the form, and delete it once the conversation is closed, and automatically twelve months after it arrives.

Abuse protection

To stop one source flooding the forms, a counter is kept against your IP address for one hour after your last submission, then expires. Your IP is never written into a subscriber record or a message. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the forms usable.

Who else sees it

Hosting and form processing run on Cloudflare, email you send to us is handled by Google Workspace, and the launch email will be sent through an email service provider. All act as our processors, and all store data outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, including in the EU and the United States, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses; ask us for a copy. Cloudflare also logs each request to this site, including your IP address and browser, and we see aggregate traffic figures from those logs. Nobody else receives your data. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to profile you.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, a portable copy, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. One email to contact@jug.ba is enough. No form, no account.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Bosnia and Herzegovina that is the Agencija za zaštitu ličnih podataka u Bosni i Hercegovini, the Personal Data Protection Agency, at azlp.ba. If you are in the EU, you may complain to your national authority instead.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects data already collected, subscribers will be told in the same email they signed up for, or sooner. Last updated 25 July 2026.
